The Prime Minister of Spain, Pedro Sanchez, and the Minister of Science, Pedro Duque, visited the "Manuel Rico" Laboratory of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance of the "Rocasolano" Institute of Physical Chemistry (IQFR) of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC).

On November 6th, 2020, Pedro Sanchez visited the "Manuel Rico" Laboratory of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance, where research is underway to characterize proteins of SARS-CoV-2 in collaboration with the International Consortium COVID19-NMR.

Pedro Sanchez signed the institute's historic visitors' signature book, which includes the signatures of renowned scholars such as Marie Curie and Pierre Langevin.

The Prime Minister wrote: "One of the principal lessons of this COVID-19 pandemic beyond any doubt is the defense, promotion and strengthening of our research capacity.  In the heart of this strategy, the Spanish National Research Council emerges as a buttress of a safer and more prosperous society thanks to science."
